While it does get the job done for messaging friends it's a fairly buggy experience. At least better compared to a few years prior. Sometimes trying to send images to friends will be a hit or miss situation and won't send. It also still doesn't have voice chat either for the few that still use it on steam. I find as well it's constantly having connectivity issues to the steam servers as well.

Has become completely nonfunctional as of late, for at least a couple of weeks. I have full access to all areas of steam and perfect connection, but this app is just refusing to connect. It was working seamlessly for years otherwise, I don't know what changed but I've tried pretty much everything I can think of. There's very little to no information on fixing "Unable to connect to steam." error.

The app is coded so badly that I got a 30 min IP ban by trying to attach a photo, because it sent so many login requests in such a short space of time. Other than that, the notifications work, but the chat often doesn't update, so you have to check notifications during a conversation to determine if you need to back out and reload the chat. Overall I'd say 3* because of the notifications, but the fact it got me banned has dropped it to 1, because that's not acceptable for an official app.
