BRISK WALKING BENEFITS YOUR HEALTH

We all know how important it is to be active. The good news is you don’t have to go to the gym or start expensive fitness programmes, walking briskly counts too!

Just ten minutes of brisk walking every day can get your heart pumping and can make you feel more energetic, as well as lowering your risk of serious illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Going for a brisk walk is a great way to clear your head and improve your mood.

Active 10's are simple to fit into your day, from taking the dog out to going for a lunchtime walk there are lots of opportunities to include brisk walking into your daily routine.

This app relies on your phone’s inbuilt sensors to measure your activity so you may experience varying levels of accuracy especially in older devices/operating systems. To improve accuracy, we recommend keeping your phone in a pocket close to your body rather than in a loose coat pocket or bag.

If you have any feedback on how we can improve the app please send it to BetterHealth
Active 10 shows you when you are walking quickly enough to get health benefits.

A once great app now totally ruined. don't bother with this app, it's absolute junk nowadays. When will developers ever understand what customers really want, a simple to use app that you don't have to integrate with other stuff like Health Connect, Google Fit etc, I don't give a stuff about them, I just want the app to work like it once did, ie well! Uninstalling today I'm afraid. I'll find another that actually works.

Thanks for your feedback. All Android devices rely on the Google Fit API in order to capture steps data from their device pedometer. Google now requires app developers that use this API for their app to function to integrate with Health Connect in order to continue sharing access from your device pedometer to apps such as Active 10.

I quite liked it before the NHS log-in (my only gripes were the widget didn't update properly and notifications were irrelevant), but it's become almost unusable now. It forgets I've linked my accounts at least once a day, which is time-consuming to correct. It's ridiculously difficult to find your progress on walking plans, and sometimes it forgets this too. I can't access it unless I have an internet connection, and sometimes it won't load at all.

Fun and interactive way to get out and about. Recommended to go for walks to manage stress but found it hard to maintain, this means I have a fun way of seeing those walks progress while collecting badges. Even if I don't hit the brisk walking target seeing I've been out for an hour is just as rewarding.
