I decided to give it a go again after the initial launch. The catch-up mechanics are terrible. You run through levels so quickly that your gear becomes worthless in an hour. Eventually, you starve for resources because you can't keep re-farming gear every hour and you are stuck in a position of being under-geared, basically. Inevitably when you get one shot all the time because of their "catch-up system", you have to stop trying to catch-up and roll back difficulties. Like, why is this a thing?

The game itself is great, it's probably the best mobile game I've ever played because it's just diablo but on the go. The microtransactions however, should be considered a crime. Your reward for completing a dungeon: Here's a bundle you can buy. Rifts: You're capped at 2 star gems unless you buy the legendary crests. Battle pass? 2 different paid options. Another paid pass that's just a battle pass with a different name: even more money than the actual battle pass. Why not leave it at cosmetics.

Now the only reason this isn't getting a 1 star is because there are some redeemable features, and can be fun to play for some time. However, the main issues I have are the almost predatory cash grab instances within the game. Legendary gems, which can only seemingly be brought with real money, are the only way to stay competitive and there's no way I'd want to play a game which is more of lootbox simulator than a diablo game. Blizzard, you've gone downhill bad
