Wear your wings. The famous fighter-pilot wings stretch across the middle of the dial — white bars, three red stripes on each side and a star beneath — and where the lettering would be, the time sits in bold, squared figures you can read at a glance. Behind it all, a deep navy fades to black, like the sky at altitude.

• A large clock inside the wings, always two digits for the hour and two for the minutes, following your 12/24-hour setting
• Weekday and date at the top
• Battery level, with a gauge that fills in white
• Today's steps and your heart rate
• A white step goal ring around the edge, filling clockwise as you walk

Two finishes: the classic white and red, or brushed metal, with the wings and the clock in polished steel. Press and hold the watch face, tap Customize, and choose a finish, or switch the step goal ring off.

In always-on mode the wings step aside and only a dim clock stays lit, gently shifting position to protect your screen.
