Yuka scans food, beauty & personal care products to decipher their ingredients and evaluate their impact on your health.
In a world of incomprehensible labels, Yuka provides clarity in one quick scan so you can make clear-sighted purchases.
Yuka uses a simple color code to inform you of the product's impact on your health: excellent, good, mediocre, or poor. You can access a detailed info page for each product, to help you understand its grade.
◆ 4 MILLION FOOD PRODUCTS ◆
Every product is evaluated according to 3 objective criteria: nutritional value, additives, and the organic dimension of the product.
◆ 2 MILLION BEAUTY PRODUCTS ◆
The scoring method relies on analyzing all of the product's ingredients. Every ingredient is assigned a level of risk, based on current scientific research.
◆ BEST PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS ◆
For any product with a negative grade, Yuka will recommend in total independence a similar product that's better for your health as an alternative.
◆ 100% INDEPENDENT ◆
Yuka is a 100% independent application. This means that product evaluations and recommendations are completely objective: no brand or manufacturer can influence them in one way or another. In addition, the application does not advertise. Find out more about our funding on our website.

They don't always correct mistakes, so some ratings are misleading. I sent them a correction weeks ago about a sunscreen product that has a score of 100 yet has nanoparticles listed in the ingredients. On yuka it explicitly says it has no nanoparticles. I'll still use it, it's a handy app. But make sure you read the pack and don't rely on yuka.

Hello Carl, thank you for taking the time to reach out. It is strange that our team did not fix the issue if you sent a correction for it. Could you please come back to me with a picture of the information and of the product's barcode so I can look at the issue? Thank you in advance!

Probably one of my most useful apps and well worth paying money for a subscription. I find myself reaching for it in the supermarket and at home. It saves me a lot of worry and time. I see some people are criticising the app because it can give a bad rating to things that are high calorie or unhealthy in some other way. This app is not going to spoon feed you. It's up to you to look at the details and decide if, on balance, a packet of crisps with high fat but no risky additives is ok.

Very good app that would get 5* rating if you could put all favourites into alphabetical order. Just worked out that the overview button separates excellent products, good and poor so that you can concentrate on those that are more healthy for you although items I have scanned as bad don't show up in the overview section. It is a useful app that I will be continuing to use both at home and whilst shopping to give me a better idea of what to buy and what would be advisable to steer clear of.
