Best free app I've found for practicing writing kana. You can test yourself on randomly ones from all possible kana, or just hiragana or katakana, or a smaller set. You don't just pass or fail, even if you do well enough to proceed, it says how accurate you were, and you can try again before proceeding. It also doesn't matter if you write off to the side or a different size as long as it's the right shape. Also, kanji writing practice. The free version only has 110 (JLPT N5 Beginner).

I haven't been using this app for long but can already see how it's a great edition for me learning Japanese. I love that it reminds you to do daily reviews to help remind you on what you've learnt. There are a lot of different categories to choose from. I was first interested in the kanji learning but pleased to see how much more it has to offer. I haven't bought premium yet but you get loads for free and the one time cost looks so worth it for what you get.

There are lots of features that make this app, one of the best for studying different aspects of Japanese. I especially like the new flashcard learning update, which allows you to choose what is displayed on either side of the flashcard. The personal notes section is helpful for mnemonics, but would prefer the ability to add extra personal notes, to give myself a range of personalised options, when choosing what to display on a flashcard. All in all, a great app. 5/5
