About this app

Use your camera to magnify small text, see object details, or zoom in on faraway text like street signs or restaurant menus behind a service counter. Search for words before or after you take a picture to find what you need on a menu, a departure board, or anything containing text. Apply visual effects to make low contrast text more visible. In low light environments brightness is automatically adjusted. You can also take photos and zoom in as much as you need.
Get started:
1. Download Magnifier from the Play Store.
2. (Optional) Set up Magnifier to easily open via Quick tap:
a. Open your phone's Settings app.
b. Go to System > Gestures > Quick tap.
c. Turn on Use Quick tap.
d. Choose open app. Next to "Open app," tap Settings. Then select Magnifier.
e. To open Magnifier, tap twice on the back of your phone.

Magnifier requires Pixel 5 or later model.
Zoom in, brighten, and find words to aid your vision when you need it.

A good basic magifying glass app, but it would be nice to be able to manually control the focus. Edit: After reading your reply, tapping the screen to adjust focus doesn't give the fine grained manual focus adjustment that I would like. I often use my phone's camera as a magnifying glass and use the manual focus adjustment in the options to change the depth of focus, but don't like the peaking active highlights and inability to use the light while simply viewing the camera feed

I just downloaded this app and quickly tried it. In that short time, I have to say that it's the best magnifier I've used yet. It focuses quickly, the enhanced view is very nice, and I love the various colored contrasts like yellow on black, black and white or yellow/blue etc. making it easier to read. The flashlight works very well with this app also. It will be great for reading price tags, restaurant menus, grocery boxes and more. I am very happy with this app! Thank you Google!
